Our work matters to millions. Itll matter to you too. Join our Living Places team as a Structures Maintenance Engineer and you'll be a big part of fascinating, complex, varied and meaningful work.

Working on an existing Highway Maintenance Contract, repairing and maintaining critical systems that fall under the structures and Signals/ITS teams control.

What you'll be doing

As a Structures Maintenance Engineer, you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Undertake routine maintenance of Specialist Electrical systems across contract

  • Undertake reactive maintenance including fault finding and repair

  • Carry out electrical safety inspections

  • Ensure full compliance with the Highway Electrical Association competency scheme, T&Cs and Code of Conduct

  • At all times proactively engage with and adhere to company procedures with regards to health, safety and quality and where applicable to ensure all team members do likewise

  • Ensure that all plant, equipment, and electrical systems are regularly inspected, and that all defects are reported to the person responsible for the workplace and a record is maintained

  • Emergency call outs.

    You will have the following:

  • Ability to work well on own or in small team

  • Trustworthy and reliable

  • Full Driving Licence

  • Be willing to attend sites at short notice in emergencies

  • IPAF 1b/3a + Harness and Fall Arrest training;

  • ECS Card Electrician

  • City & Guilds Electrical installation Level 3

  • Holder of SMSTS or other Health and Safety related qualification

  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Test or equivalent

  • Experience working with Hydraulic systems an advantage.
