The Careers Service plays a key role in the success of our students and works with them across their student journey. The service, comprised of 6 teams, is responsible for student and graduate career management and employability and works extensively with colleagues across the University, and with external partners and employer to inspire and support students to get to where they want to be when they graduate.

The Bristol PLUS Award Team is responsible for delivering the Bristol PLUS Award, the University's student employability award, and brokering and delivering mutually beneficial work experience and skills development opportunities with Bristol and city region's third sector.

What will you be doing?

As Bristol PLUS Awards Officer, you will;

  • Maintain both online and offline databases to ensure accurate ongoing documentation of students on the Award and their activity

  • Monitor and interpret this data to highlight any trends or potential problems to the Bristol PLUS Award Manager

  • Provide excellent "customer" service through efficient monitoring of the joint inbox and triaging of queries from a range of stakeholders

  • Deliver introductory talks to large and varied student groups both online and in person

  • Support the Bristol PLUS Award Manager to plan, organise and deliver PLUS award activities to ensure that registration and completion targets are met

  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships

  • Positively contribute Careers Service priorities and those of the wider division

  • You enjoy working in a customer service role, with a high level of customer service skills.

  • You have strong attention to detail and can keep accurate records.

  • You have excellent and adaptable communication skills across a range of channels and audiences.

  • You are comfortable delivering workshops/presentations to a diverse audience

  • You enjoy variety in your work and interacting with different stakeholders

  • You thrive at building and maintaining effective relationships with people, both within your team and with a wide range of stakeholders
