Full Job Description

New Venture Care Ltd is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team in an Assisted Living setting. The Support Worker will work on a live-in basis for set days of the week, providing essential care and support to residents according to their individual needs and the requirements of the business. This role requires flexibility to respond to residents' needs during shifts and assume a team-leading role when necessary.,

  • Care Provision:

  • Provide personal care and support to residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, and medication administration, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.

  • Assist residents with mobility and transfers as necessary, using safe manual handling techniques.

  • Support residents with activities of daily living, promoting independence and autonomy wherever possible.

  • Emotional Support:

  • Offer emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a warm and caring environment.

  • Engage residents in meaningful activities and social interactions to enhance their well-being and quality of life.

  • Recognize signs of distress or discomfort in residents and respond appropriately, seeking guidance from senior staff when needed.

  • Health Monitoring:

  • Monitor residents' health and well-being, reporting any concerns or changes in condition to relevant healthcare professionals and senior staff.

  • Record and maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including daily records, care plans, and incident reports.

  • Household Management:

  • Assist with household tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and shopping, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for residents.

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in communal areas and residents' rooms.

  • Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring information is relayed accurately and promptly.

  • Collaborate with the wider care team to develop and review care plans, ensuring they reflect residents' individual needs and preferences.

  • Team Leadership:

  • Assume a team-leading role as required, providing guidance and support to other care staff.

  • Foster a positive working environment within the care team, promoting teamwork, respect, and professionalism.

    NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable.

  • Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably within an assisted living or residential care setting.

  • Knowledge of person-centered care principles and practices.

  • Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations governing the provision of care services in the UK.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Flexibility to work shifts and respond to residents' needs as required.


  • Additional Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

  • Willingness to undergo further training and development as required.

    This role is based in a residential care setting and involves working on a live-in basis for set days of the week.

  • Shift patterns may vary according to the needs of the business and residents, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

  • The role may involve physical tasks such as lifting and bending, requiring a reasonable level of fitness and mobility.
