What's the job?

We are looking for someone to support our Commercial Function as a Talent Acquisition Partner, sourcing buyers and merchandisers from Assistants to Leads, accessing the best talent in the market. You'll support and drive the delivery of the overall B&Q strategy by finding the best candidates in the market for current and future needs, helping to convert them into B&Q colleagues that are engaged and productive. Give our candidates a positive experience at every stage of the recruitment journey, influence, and coach our managers and leaders, provide trusted expertise and partnership to the business and exceed candidate and hiring manager expectations on speed, quality, and efficiency.,

  • Managing and executing the full recruitment lifecycle, from talent pooling, sourcing through to advertising, managing the assessment and offer process.

  • Work as a business partner, building specialist knowledge about the Commercial business area, and the roles you're recruiting for, for example Merchandisers and Buyers, and develop an understanding of the external market to create attraction strategies.

  • Coach and upskill hiring managers and key stakeholders to enable them to make great hiring decisions and provide a brilliant candidate experience that is fair and leave them as positive advocates of B&Q whatever the hiring decision.

  • Manage and support throughout the recruitment journey to ensure candidates have a brilliant experience.

  • Provide proactive and efficient solutions by identifying the best sourcing and attraction channels for current and future vacancies.

  • Provide expertise to ensure better hiring decisions by building a high level of market awareness of the Commercial sector, best practice, and knowledge of recruitment trends.

  • Maintain our SLAs and quality through effective partnerships with suppliers, setting them up for success and ensuring the best commercial outcome for B&Q (e.g. terms of business)

  • Promote the B&Q employer brand message through great relationships with the Employer Brand team and effective attraction plans.

  • Provide an excellent service level to the business ensuring all vacancies are filled within agreed SLAs aiming to reduce cost, time to hire and prioritising candidate experience.

  • Own the recruitment plan for every vacancy through a high-quality vacancy briefing.

  • Deliver great quality shortlists through detailed and focused pre-screening (e.g. telephone interviews)

  • Empower hiring managers to stay focused on their day job by owning the key steps in the recruitment process e.g., scheduling, selection events and feedback.

  • Drive compliance and data integrity by maintaining and updating the ATS and other relevant systems.

  • Engage and empower peers to develop the recruitment expertise and knowledge in the team to ensure we're all at our best.

  • Protect our colleagues through the support of business change activity and recruitment led projects (to include CV and interview coaching)

    Full 360 cycle recruitment experience; delivering effective recruitment campaigns and solutions to meet business needs within agreed SLA's and timescales.

  • Ability to confidently and constructively challenge and influence stakeholders around selection decisions and recruitment best practice.

  • Experience of market mapping and recruiting Merchandisers and Buyers and the wider commercial sector,

  • Previous experience in developing strong stakeholder relationships with a consultative and collaborative approach.

  • Previous experience working within a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills preferably with experience communicating effectively through remote communications channels (i.e. telephone, email etc)

  • Experience of strategic proactive sourcing techniques including passive candidate pipelining

  • Use insights, data, and expertise to educate stakeholders and inform decision making.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.

  • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

  • Experience of supporting business change and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

  • Customer focused as the custodian of the customer experience.

  • Continuous improvement mindset. Able to act on initiative, identify opportunities and proactive in putting forward ideas & solutions.
