Full Job Description

As a Task Team Driver you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The main purpose of your role is to carry out driving duties within the scope of current Road Traffic Legislation, Road Transport Law, and MOD Service Publications.

Day-to-day, you'll transport RAF personnel and dependants, which includes driving cars, minibuses, and coaches, as well as:

  • Driving & operating aircraft refuelling bowsers on the flight line and out of areas if needed.

  • Driving & operating runway sweepers.

  • Driving service personnel's children on daily school runs, operating MOD coaches.

  • Providing Ambulance cover at one of 2 operational airfields.

  • Refuelling, valeting, checking of fluid levels & tyre condition of vehicles prior to issuing to station personnel.


  • This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Valley

    Core working hours are normally 08.00- 16.00hrs, on an any 5 in 7 days contract, totalling 38.5 hrs per week. There will be flexible start and finish times dependant on what task you have been assigned to by MT Operations.

    Essential experience of the Task Team Driver:
  • New vehicle platform training will be provided but may on occasion require some travel to attend courses.

    Full clean UK driving license with preferably categories B, C, & D. (suitable candidates with no more than 6 penalty points may apply).

  • You must pass a Colour Perception test for aerodrome access and should be colour perception (CP) standard of Red Green CP2 (safe).

  • Hold a valid Driver qualification card (DCPC) for LGV and PSV.

    The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC Clearance.
