Full Job Description

Are you seeking a new opportunity within an ambitious and supportive team, where you can contribute towards an excellent teaching and learning environment?, We are looking for a dedicated Teacher of English to join our team. You'll possess energy, enthusiasm and desire to inspire a love of English. You will be responsible for delivering English lessons in line with relevant curriculum requirements, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning are maintained, whilst collaborating with the wider English faculty to sustain and raise class achievement to an outstanding level.

The right candidate will have:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree

  • Have successful teaching experience at secondary level

  • Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning

  • Have knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4, and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' work

  • Be able to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff

  • Have a good level of ICT skills,

  • Be able to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students

  • Have good written and spoken communication skills and be able to communicate positively with parents, carers and other external agencies where necessary

  • Be able to lead and manage their own work effectively

  • Be able to motivate students and raise their aspirations through a range of strategies, At Barnwood Park School, you'll be working within a welcoming and supportive team, with the ability to make a real difference.
