Full Job Description

The Role: Are you passionate about creating a streamlined and efficient supply chain? We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Purchasing & Material Department Supervisor / Technical Buyer. As part of our procurement team, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing our supply chain and vendor relationships.,

  • Supply Chain Strengthening: Research and develop prospective suppliers for materials, subcontract machining, and high-value capital equipment, enhancing our supply chain's robustness.

  • Procurement Communication: Liaise with internal departments and suppliers, ensuring strong supplier performance and relationships, fostering effective communication channels.

  • Supplier Evaluation: Evaluate key suppliers to meet business needs, objectives, and quality standards.

  • Proposal Creation: Develop proposals and request quotes aligning with customer/project requirements.

  • Price Negotiation: Forward plan and negotiate prices within project budgets, maintaining accurate internal costing formats.

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with suppliers for product development and cost reduction plans.

  • Purchase Orders & Contracts: Prepare and issue purchase orders and contracts, ensuring alignment with project requisitions.

  • Supplier Performance Monitoring: Track and manage supplier performance, promptly resolving issues to maintain quality standards.

  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Quality Department, ensuring quality products throughout the supply chain.

    Experience: Minimum 5 years in an office environment with a proven history in high-quality engineered products.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in group settings.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Word and Excel; detail-oriented with administration processes.

  • Commercial Awareness: A strong understanding of company products/services and market awareness.

  • Personnel Skills: Self-confident, enthusiastic, and personable with strong team-working abilities.

  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organization and time management skills with a commitment to accuracy and meeting strict deadlines.

  • Problem Solving: Ability to make sound judgments based on data, providing effective solutions.


  • Additional Information: This role will involve reporting monthly to senior management on departmental activities and KPIs, managing the supply chain, maintaining project costing reports, and ensuring budget compliance.
