Full Job Description

The Technical Sales Coordinator is the primary internal contact with the customer relative to all commercial matters from quotation through delivery of the product., QUOTATIONS

  • Set prices based on formula pricing and/or factory costings, taking into account historical information and current policy.

  • Ensure accuracy of lead-time quoted to customers in collaboration with manufacturing team.

  • Negotiate with customer's issues pertaining to price, lead-time, and special order requirements.

  • Follow up with customers on open quotations and close/report on lost quotations correctly.


  • ORDER PROCESSING
  • Retrieve purchase orders, amendments and planning schedules via customer portals.

  • Review purchase orders and enter into computer, verify drawings revisions, price, quantity, quality requirements and any other pertinent information

  • Search and retrieve existing part numbers from the MRP system and apply to orders / quotes.


  • CUSTOMER SERVICE
  • Work with the team to best manage workload for production to meet customer demand.

  • Assist in forwarding engineering information and contract drawings to customers when required.

  • Update customer order status reports in conjunction with the manufacturing team.

  • Liaise with customers and internal groups any conflicts or questions pertaining to open orders and quotations.


  • COMPLIANCE
  • Conduct checks on customers using Visual Compliance software and Know Your Customer procedures to ensure compliance with ongoing U.K, U.S. and EU trade restrictions.


  • GENERAL
  • Prepare written correspondence to customers as necessary.

  • Inform Management regularly about live business issues relating to enquiry and order activity.

  • Present in daily departmental meeting business conditions and issues with customers.

  • Work on project teams as assigned.

  • Work on continuous process improvement.

  • Assist with customer visits.

  • Assist with training of others.

  • Deputize for colleagues in whatever capacity is required.

  • Contributes to risk assessments and safe working practices.

  • Complies with all safety policies and procedures whilst actively participating in the efforts to create and maintain a Zero Harm work place culture.

  • Support, submit and carry out Electronic Behavioural Based Safety Audits (EBBS) and safety/CI T-Cards - as required.

  • Challenges non-compliant employees on safety policies and procedures. Reporting to senior management if necessary.

  • Attends safety training courses as required.

    Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role - desirable.

  • Knowledge of Export Control and Incoterms - desirable.

  • Is able to able to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.

  • Proficient user of MSOffice and MRP systems.

  • Able to work in fast paced environment.

  • An effective communicator who has strong customer service skills.

  • Works in a methodical manner and has an excellent eye for detail.

  • Results driven with a focus on urgency and achieves goals.

  • Possesses the ability for working alone or as part of the team.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities with a bias towards action and speed.

  • Constantly displays integrity and respect., A technical qualification, HNC or equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
