Full Job Description

As a Test Engineer specialising in oil rig simulations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our simulation software. You will develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases to evaluate the functionality and performance. Collaborating closely with developers, managers, customers and subject matter experts, you will identify and report software defects, track issues and contribute to timely resolutions.

  • Develop and execute test plans and cases to validate the functionality and performance of the simulation software

  • Produce and maintain documentation for both internal and external use

  • Identify, document and report software defects and issues using tracking tools

  • Support user acceptance testing and collaborate with customers, assisting with training

  • Coordinate the updates and installations

  • Responsible for the upkeep and usage of test simulators

  • Undertake additional duties as requested by the line manager and software manager

  • Other Requirements:
  • Experience with simulation software or gaming technology

  • Familiarity with tracking tools (e.g., Jira)

  • Knowledge of oil and gas industry operations, terminology, and processes is a plus
