Theatre Care Assistant

To provide care for patients undergoing surgical procedures in the Main theatre and Gynae theatre, under direct supervision of the registered theatre practitioners including patient transfer and positioning. To assist in the preparation of the environment and equipment for clinical procedures in the Operating Theatre and/or Anaesthetic Room. To assist in the scrub practitioner in the counting of instrument and swabs. To be in theatre during surgery to provide the scrub practitioner with equipment as required. Assist in supplying and maintaining materials and equipment re-stocking clinical areas using stock rotation. To be aware of and work within Theatre and Trust policies and guidelines. Assist in receiving, handling recording and dispatching of clinical specimens. To clean the operating theatre and equipment between cases. Maintain a clean theatre environment including ancillary areas. To work within the team to ensure a safe environment is maintained in order to safeguard the welfare
