Full Job Description

Government Digital and Data (GDD) Profession Capability Framework and Success Profiles Frameworks. Using GDD we will then determine if you will be paid an additional allowance, on top of your basic salary. This role is within the Product and Delivery Job Family, is a Product Manager role at Associate Product Manager level, but carries the title Video Product Manager within DTS., Working within the DTS Digital Infrastructure Product team, the video team has two primary areas of responsibility: live video links where users communicate in real-time with various video and audio technologies; and the Audio-Visual equipment installed in courtrooms to facilitate digital evidence presentation., Working closely with all stakeholders, the main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Work collaboratively with suppliers for current and future capability and help develop a roadmap for the product and services. This will require a good technical capability, with the ability to support with discussions building strong supplier relationships. A good understanding of the organisation will be required in order to present and influence internal stakeholders on proposed technology changes and how that aligns with the organisation's objectives.

  • Understand the wider picture of how video and audio technology should be deployed within a variety of environments to deliver a high-quality user experience. Use knowledge of video services to translate customer needs into clearly defined requirements. Be able to assess the impact of these services on associated infrastructure, internal delivery networks and cloud-based platforms and communicate this to business stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Deliver current operating procedures and processes for reporting and associated delivery of services and develop and execute improvements and efficiencies. Be able to recognise internal operating procedures and where changes can be delivered at pace with wider impacting procedures which require excellent stakeholder management, integrity, effective decision making and setting priorities.

  • Have a good understanding of wider IT requirements and develop user stories, in order to improve, design and deliver new services or support any procurement activity. A good analytical approach is needed to pull together various streams of data, understanding of functional and non-functional requirements and a grasp of risks with the ability to identify via all the different streams the approach needed to change and influence expectations and customer needs.

  • Lead and Manage incidents based on the service, help to co-ordinate the appropriate suppliers and stakeholders to support the resolution of the incidents. Bring together various resolution teams across the organisation and proactively encourage resolution, provide guidance and take the lead for resolution with the incident team. Provide clear communication to stakeholders or input to via the incident team.

  • Assess and respond to queries and issues as they arise providing further analysis as required or escalating more complex and difficult issues upwards to relevant members of the team. Maintain accountability and responsibility and help drive issues forward.

  • The post holder will report to the Senior Video Product Manager., Behaviours - During the interview, we will assess the 2 behaviours below at Level 3.

    Working Arrangements & Further Information

    The MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and / or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). All employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in an office, subject to local estate capacity.

    Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Similarly, Hybrid Working will not suit everyone's circumstances. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.

    For nationally advertised roles, the successful candidate(s) will be appointed to a MoJ office location, which may include their nearest Justice Collaboration Centre or Justice Satellite Office. This will be discussed and agreed on the completion of pre-employment checks.

    Some of MoJ's terms and conditions of service are changing as part of Civil Service reform. The changes will apply to staff joining MoJ who are new to the Civil Service. Staff joining MoJ from other civil service employers will transfer onto the new MoJ terms if they are already on 'modernised' terms in their current post or onto 'unmodernised' MoJ terms if they are on 'unmodernised' terms at their current post. Details will be available if an offer is made.

    MoJ candidates who are on a specialist grade, will be able to retain their grade on lateral transfer.

    All candidates who are currently in receipt of Mark Time / Pay Protection should ensure they are familiar with the new policy on permanent and temporary promotion which can be found on the employee intranet.

    This role will be part of the team coordinating the operation, support, maintenance and improvement of this business-critical video infrastructure across the HMCTS estate. Excellent internal and external stakeholder management required with the ability to articulate technical solutions to a non-technical audience. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, proactively and with versatility in responding to changing circumstances is essential. Supporting the Senior Video Product Manager, they will be expected to take ownership and constructively work with technical designs, supplier delivery processes, product choice and present solutions.,
