Full Job Description

We are looking to onboard a volunteer for our fundraising department. Ideally, this would be 2 days a week between our office in St Ives, and also supporting from home, for the period of at least 3 months. We are of course happy to discuss the days you volunteer in more detail with you.

- Receive a volunteer induction.

- Be provided with all the relevant training needed for the role.

- Gain experience within fundraising and obtain the necessary skills needed to pursue a career within the sector.

- Receive positive support from your link supervisor on your personal development plan and goals.

- Have flexible volunteering arrangements.

- be loaned a Caring Together Charity laptop and phone for use in the office and at home., Your day-to-day tasks will include, but are not limited to:

- Supporting the fundraising department to carry out its fundraising plans and raise vital funds to support unpaid carers.

- Dealing with donor and fundraiser queries via email and telephone

- Supporting the fundraising team in administration tasks such as thanking and following up with donors.

- Working with our database Salesforce, ensuring data is recorded and kept up to date.

- The option to engage with local community groups, attend events and deliver talks

We will always support your goals and development needs. If there is anything else you would like experience in, we will do our best to find these opportunities for you.

Your commitment

· Carrying out the role in accordance with Caring Together policies.

· A willingness to attend training and supervision/support meetings as agreed.

· A commitment to contact your link supervisor at the earliest opportunity, should you find that you are unable to attend as planned.

· We would ideally like you to volunteer two days per week, although this is flexible and can be discussed. The office is open Monday to Friday, and you will be provided with your own laptop. We work on a hybrid working policy and the hours you choose to volunteer are flexible. We are always open to discussing options with you and to see what works best.

What we need from you

· Basic DBS check (cost covered by Caring Together).

If you are a strong communicator, competent with using IT and Office packages, and believe in the work we do here at Caring Together, we'd love to hear from you! No previous experience within the charity or fundraising sector is required., No experience of working in a similar role is needed but we expect that you will have the following:

· A desire to make a difference to people's lives.

· Being a team player, as part of the fundraising team.

· Enthusiasm.

· Be friendly and enjoy meeting and supporting people.

· Good verbal/written communication skills.

· Good listening and conversation skills.
