As one of the country's largest waste and recycling collection services, we have a unique opportunity to drive sustainability and improve the environmental performance of our services by taking an integrated approach to collecting and managing household waste produced across the county. We are committed to compliance with new legislative requirements, such as under Environment Act 2021, and focused on maximising new funding opportunities to ensure that new services achieve the best value. Reporting to the Head of Service for Waste Management, the Waste Services Programme Manager will play a pivotal role in strategically leading the timely delivery of a complex and wide-ranging programme to ensure multiple waste collection and waste treatment and disposal contracts are procured and commissioned, alongside overseeing the delivery of the Household Recycling Centre development project and other efficiency schemes, ensuring timely and effective Programme delivery.

We're looking for candidates who hold a relevant degree or equivalent experience, alongside membership in a waste-related professional body. With expertise in Programme Management or Systems Thinking and a proven track record in delivering complex projects, you should bring strategic insight and strong negotiation skills to the table. Excellent organisational and communication skills will be essential, alongside experience in building and maintaining effective partnerships including motivating and engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders., Disability Confident
