Work Experience Student / year in industry Multiscale Material Modelling

The aim of this position is to give the student relevant industrial research experience as a member of the office of the CTO development team focusing on multiscale materials modelling. In this role, the Intern Student will collaborate with expert professionals to design and implement workflows to link atomistic to continuum simulation to quantify the effect of materials microstructures on hydrogen diffusion in metals.,

• Work on the implementation and validation of a multiscale materials modeling workflow starting from existing developments.


• Investigate and document state-of-the-art, including testing existing software solutions.


• Regularly present results and progress to internal stakeholders.


• Work under the close supervision of a team member.
  
  A degree in material science, physics, an engineering discipline, or a closely related subject.


• Experience with Python (preferred), or other programming languages.


• Basic experience and understanding of atomistic materials modelling (Density Functional Theory, Molecular Dynamics, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Basic experience/understanding of multiscale materials modelling for diffusion processes.


• Basic experience/understanding of Kinetic Monte Carlo simulations.
